🌱 A safe, inclusive community where every child belongs & grows.

We were so fortunate last week to welcome talented We were so fortunate last week to welcome talented author Jo Dabrowski, author of Dear Broccoli and The Thing About Christmas, to our school!

Jo worked with our students in a fun and engaging workshop, sharing her expertise and teaching the children how to write persuasive letters. ✍️💌 She also shared her own experiences as an author and astonished the students when she revealed just how many edits and revisions each of her books went through before being published!

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to see that great writing takes time, persistence and plenty of editing.

A special mention also goes to our wonderful Prep students, who did an amazing job reading a page from Jo’s book Dear Broccoli. 📖🥦 Thank you to our Prep readers for being so brave and sharing their reading with everyone!

We also extend a huge congratulations to Jo Dabrowski and Cate James, whose playful and clever picture book Dear Broccoli was voted the 2026 Shadow Judging Picture Book Winner! 🏆🥦

Thank you, Jo, for visiting us and sharing your creativity, knowledge and love of storytelling with our students. ❤️📚

Today we kicked off Book Week in the cosiest way p Today we kicked off Book Week in the cosiest way possible — with Read in Your Pyjamas Day! 💤📖

Our students arrived in their PJs, armed with pillows, blankets, torches and most importantly, a great book! Some even got creative and built their own cosy reading forts. 🔦⛺📚

It was beautiful to walk through the school and see everyone so calm, settled and completely immersed in their reading. Our students truly embraced the joy of books and the magic of getting lost in a story. ❤️

What a wonderful way to begin a week celebrating our love of reading and stories! We can’t wait to see what the rest of Book Week brings! 📚✨

💟BULLYING NO WAY WEEK | SMALL ACTS, BIG IMPACT💟 O 💟BULLYING NO WAY WEEK | SMALL ACTS, BIG IMPACT💟

On Monday we celebrated Bullying No Way! Week.

Our theme this year, Small Acts, Big Impact, reminds us that even the smallest actions can help someone feel safe, welcome and valued. A kind word. Including someone in a game. Standing beside a friend. Speaking up when something isn’t right. 💬🤝

At St Martin de Porres, we know that creating a safe and inclusive school is something we all contribute to, every single day.

💜 Small acts can create big change.
💜 Kindness matters.
💜 Speak up.
💜 Look out for one another.

A huge thank you to our students and staff for making Bullying No Way Week a meaningful celebration of belonging and positive relationships.

Celebrating 100 Days of School! 🥳🙌💯👵 What a wonde Celebrating 100 Days of School! 🥳🙌💯👵

What a wonderful day we had celebrating 100 Days of School at St Martin de Porres! We were delighted to welcome our Prep families to join us in celebrating this special milestone.

Our Preps looked fantastic, with many dressing as 100-year-olds or creating fun 100-themed outfits. The day began with our students proudly singing their 100 Days of School song, followed by the presentation of their certificates - celebrating all they have learned, achieved and how much they have grown over their first 100 days.

The fun continued with eight exciting hands-on stations led by our school leaders. Students explored 100 through LEGO making, cup towers knockdown, 100-second challenges, dice games, 100 stickers activity, creating a large 100 chart, place value paper chains and colourful tissue-paper rainbows.

We then enjoyed a wonderful shared lunch with our families, followed by a disco, craft activities and a movie.

It was a joyful day filled with smiles, laughter and excitement as we celebrated 100 days of learning, friendship, growth and belonging at St Martin de Porres! 💯❤️
