UFLI|| Only four weeks into the school year and ou UFLI|| Only four weeks into the school year and our Prep students are already thriving with the UFLI phonics program. It has been wonderful to see the strong foundations they are building in their early reading journey. Their classroom routines, focus and calm approach to learning are truly to be commended. We are so proud of the positive start our Preps have made and look forward to seeing their continued growth throughout the year. We can see the preps air writing the letter ‘s’ and using their own indiviudal whiteboards to have a practise.

UFLI:
We are excited to introduce our new phonics program, UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) Foundations, across the primary years!

UFLI is a high-quality, evidence-based program designed tobuild strong reading and spelling skills through explicit, systematic phonics instruction. It supports all learners by breaking down the building blocks of reading into clear, manageable steps, helping children develop confidence and success as early readers.

Throughout each lesson, students engage in structured, fast-paced learning that strengthens sound–letter knowledge, blending, segmenting and word reading. The program also provides regular review and practice, ensuring skills are reinforced and retained over time.

We are already seeing wonderful engagement in classrooms especially in our Prep classrooms. Students are enjoying the interactive routines, building their decoding skills and growing in confidence every day. UFLI gives our teachers powerful tools to target learning needs and support every child on their literacy journey.

We look forward to the continued positive impact UFLI will have on our students as they develop into strong, capable readers.

🍀 St Patrick’s Day 🍀 Students are invited to come 🍀 St Patrick’s Day 🍀

Students are invited to come to school dressed in green to celebrate St Patrick’s Day! Let’s fill the school with a sea of green and celebrate together.

St Patrick is an important saint in the Catholic Church who helped bring the Christian faith to Ireland. He is remembered for teaching people about God and using the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity — the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Thank you to our school leaders for designing this flyer)

PBL - STAFF PD|| Today our staff engaged in meanin PBL - STAFF PD|| Today our staff engaged in meaningful professional learning around PBL – Positive Behaviours for Learning.

Together we created our school matrix, ensuring it clearly reflects our values and expectations for all learners. Staff explored the concept of warm demanders, clarified major and minor behaviours and discussed the many ways PBL will positively support consistency, wellbeing, and a strong learning culture across our school.

We were fortunate to hear from Sam from St Joseph’s, Brunswick West, who shared valuable insights from their school’s five-year PBL journey and the positive impact it has had on their community.

Next step: our PBL team will collate staff contributions and share these with our parent PBL team for further feedback and collaboration.

Excited for what’s ahead as we continue strengthening positive learning behaviours across our school. ❤️🖤🩶
